Hydro Power- the Dominant Power Source of the Last CenturyIf you are looking for better fuel alternatives, then take a look at the history books. Up until the current century, it was hydro power that was king. Water was used to power all sorts of needs. Farmers did not have to depend on an electric company when a water wheel turned their threshers. No one cared about the status of the Middle East when instead of oil, all you needed was flowing water to create a constant source of energy. Once you had a wheel that moved, you could use gears and turbines to direct the energy to anything you needed. While there were a lot of variables to worry about in the last century, constant energy was not one of them. This is one of the principle reasons that cities used to all be built next to rivers. Don't make the energy go to you, you go to the energy. How We Can Save Gas Through Hydro Power TodayWith the modern technology that we have available today, we can really use Hydro Power as one of the best fuel alternatives. Instead of a huge coal burning plant that pollutes the environment and works on a diminishing supply of a natural resource, we could build huge dams and control the water that flows through. This would power a large number of turbines inside the dam which in turn could be diverted to a nearby power station. We are really on just the fringe of really using hydro power for our needs, but we have the technology. All we need is to make it a national priority and invest in building hydro power plants. By doing this we could switch from using up resources to creating clean, renewable energy. Hydro Power Should Be One of the Most Advanced Fuel AlternativesCould we create cars that are powered by hydro power? Well, we don't have them yet, but it's possible. No, I don't mean cars that have little rivers running through them. Rather, hydro power plants could power batteries which would then be used to power electric cars. While the consumer would not see a difference, the environment would. Just imagine a busy highway with quiet, non-polluting traffic. That would be a real change, and a welcome one. Creating effective fuel alternatives should become a national priority. It would eventually save the nation financial and natural resources. Hydro power should lead in technology development. |
